Some Honda graphics that didn’t make it to the final rounds.
Aren’t they cute?
gas cook top table and dong chi mee guk su
Lately I’m on fire with cooking.
I’ve always liked it but since I Moved in with my mother-in-law’s my desire has gotten skyrocketed. The layout of the house is very encouraging for moms with a little one to cook and there are more people to appreciate than just my hubby who… doesn’t necessarily enjoy home meal so much.
Who knew I’d say this but I’m realizing that I’m becoming more and more like my mom who’d rather eat at home with added labor of cooking and cleaning afterwards than go out to a fancy restaurant. I always thought that she was just trying to save money.
Anyways while discovering my new-found passion I’m starting to make a list of things I like or like to have before my family move to our new place — not that it’s happening anytime soon but never hurts to be prepared, right?
In the midst of it I had been in quest for looking for this one item I cannot buy. Surprisingly I found a lot of alternatives tho.
So the exact thing I want is this nice big dining table — preferably wood material — with a gas stove top installed in the middle. Just like the ones you’d see at any korean barbecue restaurant but nicer, much nicer like with those nice old reclaimed wood table with stainless steel hollow hall in the middle where you can put the stove in and out. I found quiet a few nice out door fire pit table but I’d like real dining table. I really like eating as you grill or boiling.. just like at the restaurant. Is it too much to ask?
somebody make one I’ll buy~
Another thing I’m crazy about lately is Dong Chi Mee guk su.
The ONLY dong chi mee guk su I’d eat is this one from Gil Mok.
There are two Gil Mok restaurant and we live almost exactly in the middle and since we would never drive more than 20 min to just go to a restaurant — I am becoming more and more like my husband also.. — we hardly ever go. So finding out how to make Dong Chi mee to make Dong Chi Mee guk Su has been my task.
I found this link which I think may be the best site for korean food recipe :

I can’t wait to make dong chi mee soon!
why.
Why did I quit then?
What was I so afraid of?
How different my life would’ve been if I kept it, continued to purse my point of view?
100th day family photoshoot day <3
Photography by MOEA Story
I’m so glad I found this photographer.
I was pretty unsatisfied with my wedding photographer. They are over-priced. They didn’t deliver what they promised – a personalized photo concept session (We just ended up going to a location photographer chose and we abruptly brought whatever clothes we had. we were so unprepared despite his promise that that’s where he shines)
To compensate that loss I had been determined to have another photo shoot. This time, with the baby.
Throwing away all that baby photography coupons I got from the hospital were a bit painful. They make it so tempting with all that packages that come with announcements and cards, etc. But deciding to go with this photographer was easy. I loved her style. I loved her studio.
I might explain more in detail later when I’m not so tired, but to make a long story short, – Taking pictures with a baby is very very difficult. lol
Baby Roeun, somehow decided not to take a nap for the first time that day – to not take any nap for 100 day old baby is not only unusual but deadly (for parents)
She was in such a bad mood, I thought the photographer lady was going to cry trying to make the baby laugh. (Man, I still feel bad for her)
Looking back, I wish I had given my baby time to take a nap there – she was finally ready to, when we got there. That would’ve really helped us a lot.
Anyways, here they are.
Spring comes
It’s been at least two years since my last post. More than two years since the last entry was about Christmas.
Since then, I got pregnant. delivered a beautiful baby girl. consequently became a mom. got a new job. therefore a working mom.
Having a baby is such a life changing experience. I don’t know where to begin. But yes mine has changed as well.
I didn’t think I had time to blog again but I decided and also realized that I needed some way to relieve myself from this day to day life.
I also feel the need to record as much as I can. My complex and difficult delivery definitely took a toll on my memory.
I can’t hardly win an argument with my husband. I used to be able to pin point exactly where I said what and he did what, the mood and all.
It’s all gone. I can’t rely on my brain anymore.
Also I’m absolutely distressed by the fact that I had not noted any of my baby’s big milestones.
She just started walking and I can’t tell anyone when she took the first step.
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO..
😉
Oh well. so here comes the spring, and so do I.
happy new year
C+K+D+….
Turkey bowl
Our church is having a first annual Turkey Bowl. Thought I’d do something to promote it.
That was last night, and this image came to my mind this morning. It was funny but this exact face expression just came to my mind. So I had to draw it.
I had a couple of hours of down time during the day. just enough to play around for something like this.
LLS
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.
Their problem with the current logo is that it’s very long, difficult to spell, read and work with. Also, there is corporate logo and there are six sub-brand logos. LLS, as a parent brand, is getting lost when married with its 6 sub brand logos.
To solve these problems, they wanted to play down the organization’s full name and enhance LLS.
When I first approached this project, I was hoping that they market it enough that when used with sub brand logos, All they need is LLS Logo mark without it’s full name.
Here is my first attempt.
This was a bit too playful. I needed to tone it down a bit. I had to let go of my “all color (6 sub brands and the organization) come together to form the logo type LLS” concept. But I didn’t want to give up the logo type… so here they are…
The cool point was that the “S” will move along with the sub brand name, thus becoming a frame – umbrella for the sub brands.
more toned down version… I think the LLS typeface just didn’t work for my client. ^^;
Speaking of the frame, here are more ideas with the logo mark as a frame. The organization name will be replaced with sub brand names.
Below with LLS being a logo mark.
Inspired by blood drop. Leukemia & Lymphoma being the type of blood cancer.
Started from this, a drop of blood.
Of course, we know about Japanese flag and we weren’t going to use this but this had inspired many more logo concepts like following.
earthsone process
Now that it’s out, I think I can finally talk about it.
It was a completely new line of wine they created for low end market. Rodney Strong is big on their sustainability. But somehow they never really stressed that in their product and marketing until now. Our job (@s•p)was to bring out that thru naming, packaging and marketing. SP first came up with names such as ‘Green thumb’, ‘Caring vine’ and ‘earthstone (this one, inspired by the tree ring design I did first under another name).’
I think I had done a few more than just these but can’t find the file and it’s been so long that I can’t even remember if I did more or not. Anyways, here are the ones I found. My favorite was also the first one they liked but I also like the second one just as much, cool die-cut!
I had done a nice looking case box when I didn’t know the spec, and then we learned that it was going to be 2 color job on the craft box. Oh well, what can you do.
Cool thing about this is when you stack them, they create one very big tree ring. Above is their tag line, “All good things come from the earth”
